Getting to Indonesia

The main international airports in Indonesia are Bali (DPS) and Jakarta (CGK) and from both of these there are daily flights to Labuan Bajo, although Bali - Labuan flights are much more frequent.

More recently Air Asia and Jetstar are offering direct flights from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to Labuan Bajo!

International Arrivals Into Bali Denpasar (DPS)
Citizens of 86 countries can enter Indonesia and buy a 30-day Visa on Arrival (VOA), this can be extended once for a further 30 days. Citizens of 10 ASEAN countries are eligible for the Visa Exemption, which grants you a 30 day stay (non extendable).  Foreign travellers from countries other than the 86 listed countries must first apply for a B211A Tourist Visa prior to entering Bali.

All visitors to Indonesia need at least 6 months passport validity.
For a list of the full requirements please visit Welcome Back To Bali

It is possible to apply online for your VOA up to 14 days in advance of your arrival here

Flights from Bali & Jakarta

There are direct flights from Bali (DPS) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) which take approximately 1 hour. The main airlines are Batik Air, Air Asia, Lion Air and Garuda Airlines.

From Bali to Labuan Bajo there are multiple flights per day.

Flights from Jakarta (CGK) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) take just over 2 hours. The main airlines are Batik Air, Citilink and Garuda Airlines. Flights via Jakarta are less frequent than from Bali.

We recommend Skyscanner, Tiket.com and Nusatrip for checking what flights are available, or you can book with the airlines directly.

Flights from Kuala Lumpur & Singapore

Direct flights from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Labuan Bajo began in 2024. As of March 2025 Air Asia remains the only operator flying this route. There are 2 flights per day every day.

In March 2025 Jetstar began twice weekly flights from Singapore direct to Labuan Bajo!

On arrival in Labuan Bajo you will be required to pass through immigration as with any other international airport. Both VOA (Visas on Arrival) and eVisas are accepted on arrival.

From the airport to Scuba Junkie Komodo

From Labuan Bajo airport we can organize a taxi to bring you to the jetty (journey time is about 5 minutes in a car) which costs 70,000 IDR that you pay directly to the driver.

This taxi can drop you at our office on the main street and our staff will bring you to the boat.

Should you get a flight that lands after our transfer time it can still be possible to get to the resort. As long as you land before 4pm we can assist in organizing a rental boat to the resort. This costs 800,000 IDR and is payable directly to the boat captain.

By Ferry

For the more adventurous traveller you can travel to Labuan Bajo by ferry. It takes about 36 hours from Bali and stops at Lombok and Bima on the way. It is a large passenger ferry so is not designed for island hopping - although there are some stunning views along the way. There are limited food options on the boat so it would probably be best to bring some supplies.

Generally the ferry gets into Labuan Bajo about 3pm so too late for our regular transfer, but if this budget option appeals to you let us know and we can look into organising a private transfer or you could spend a night in Labaun Bajo town and come out to the resort the following day.

For more information on getting the ferry you can check out the Pelni website.

By Island Hopping

There are many companies that offer island hopping trips that go from Bali / Lombok to the Komodo National Park. These are usually done over a few days and is a fun way to experience Indonesia.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED: This will depend on the company you book with.

Leaving Labuan Bajo

On your check out day our transfer boat will leave the resort around 8am. You will get back to Labuan Bajo around 9.30am.

Please book a flight that departs after 11am. This also allows for the recommended 18 hour No-Fly Time after diving.

If you wish to catch an earlier boat we can assist in organizing a rental boat to collect you from the resort. This costs 800,000 IDR. You can contact us to find out more.
