Thinking about doing the Open Water course but not quite sure if you want to commit? Then the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience could be the perfect thing for you! Done in just one day and no classroom time, this short course will give you a taster of what it is like to be a scuba diver.
Please note that not all dive sites are suitable for the Discover Scuba Dive experience so there may be some sites where you will not be able to dive.
Safety has been and always will be the number one priority at all of our locations. We keep our groups small with no more than 4 divers per group. Our instructors are all PADI certified who are used to teaching all levels of divers. We keep our Discover Scuba Divers divers separate from the fun divers so there is no pressure to rush through the skills and we have small speed boats with each dive boat so there can be easier or harder dive site options.
Our equipment is well maintained by our onsite technician, all of which is included in your package price. Our custom designed dive boats are equipped with full safety equipment ensuring you can travel around the Komodo National Park is style and enjoyment, safe in the knowledge you made a fantastic choice to dive with Scuba Junkie Komodo!
No, but your instructor will give you paperwork that shows the skills you have completed during the dives. These can then count towards your Open Water course as long as it is within 12 months.
Yes, each time you do a Discover Scuba Dive you need to replete the skills. This ensure that you are safe and comfortable in the water.
Yes it absolutely is! We have had many people do their Discover Scuba Dives and see these gentle giants - in fact new divers often have the best luck ;)
The maximum depth for the Discover Scuba Dive is 12m.
This is a great option for people who are feeling a bit nervous and the skills are minimal and the focus is enjoying yourself and relaxing in the water. We do recommend that you are comfortable in the water and have some swimming skills due to the conditions in Komodo.
Yes! There are some fantastic sheltered dive sites that have little to no current at all! These areas are also great spots for turtles, sharks, beautiful reefs and even manta rays!
Not every site is suitable for people who are not certified, so there may be some sites you will not be able to dive on.
For the first dive with your instructor it is best to go just with them. This means that the instructor's focus is completely on you! On subsequent dives your buddy is more than welcome to join but they will be limited to 12m as well.
Our minimum package is 4 days / 3 nights which is 2 days out on the boat. There are a couple of options should you want to do the Discover Scuba Dive with us. You can either do one day trying out blowing bubbles and one day snorkeling, you spend two days under the water!
